This residential mixed use community is located in a San Bernardino County redevelopment area and occupies nine acres of County land. It comprises of affordable family and senior housing, a public library and recreational areas. The community’s California Mission-style architecture incorporates stucco walls, balconies, shutters and red roofs, reminiscent of the area’s original vernacular style. The development is environmentally-friendly, using California drought-tolerant materials and open spaces with meandering pathways. The integration of public social uses and housing for multiple generations on a single site was critical to community acceptance and the revitalization of the former industrial district.
